All the latest news and gossip!

Auld Lang Syne

What a year 2003 was at Nod The Dog Productions. We’ve had new artistes, including the elusive Fantom Phingerpicker, and Popidol with her own blend of angst and poetry.

2003 was also the year that Nod The Dog Productions won The Golden Web Award (although it is debatable as to quite how big an honour that is), and de LeZ lost his ‘de’ and became JuSt LeZ. Almost simultaneously Tarquin Fartquhar, bassist with The Dog’s Bollox, and one time Indiskyz roadie, was renamed Tarquin Yahtzee.

We’ve also had some fantastic live events from The Greasby Antitheatre and The Barnston Bowl during which Nod and The Dogs were joined by the Legend Ned K and became The Dog’s Bollox. And don’t forget the celebrity Nodstock event in August which saw most of our favourite Nod The Dog artistes gathered together in one place for the first ever all star live performance! Preparations are already underway for Nodstock 2004…..

But with the focus of the last few months being on live events, let’s not forget that Nod The Dog Productions is primarily about home recording artistes and their music. Looking ahead to 2004 and the new year, we can expect further magic from JuSt LeZ at the Pressdatin studios, and possibly a solo project from Otis Vaters. The Dog’s Bollox may finally get around to recording their live album (we live in hope), and ofcourse Popidol is set to become a huge star – rumours already have it that she is recording a new EP in Amsterdam no less!

I hope you have enjoyed 2003 with Nod The Dog Productions, and I would like to wish all of our artistes and readers alike a very happy new year!

Best Wishes,

Nod The Dog

JuSt LeZ filmed miming shock!

JuSt LeZ pretending to play guitar?

Despite the fact that the incredibly rich JuSt LeZ has invested in a veritable plethora of new equipment recently, including his latest acquisition – a used PRS guitar costing in the region of two thousand pounds, video evidence suggests that he is not utilising the gear to its full potential.

JuSt LeZ hired a film crew to capture the making of his new “CASTRATED” live album from the Pressdatin studios, and brought on board the talents of Bad Boy Keefy and The Legend Ned K who joined him for the filming. Relegated to bass guitar for the event, JuSt LeZ can allegedly be seen  pretending to play! Indeed, it is the guitar and drums of the Dog’s Bollox dominating the proceedings and carrying the genius from Pressdatin.

An insider from the JuSt LeZ production team was so shocked by what he saw that he sneaked a copy of the warts and all master tape to a private location and invited our super sleuth Nod The Dog reporter to view the film. “This is gonna blow Milli Vanilli out of the water!” said the hack.

Regular readers will be aware that JuSt LeZ (formerly known as de LeZ) is one of our most prolific home recording artistes, and has amassed a great number of fans both moved and inspired by his musical output. The news that he was apparently miming in the film is sure to send a shockwave throughout his loyal fan base, and cast doubts about the integrity of all recordings from the Pressdatin studios.

JuSt LeZ is still denying the allegations, but it is perhaps significant that the release of the Castrated DVD has been delayed indefinitely.

They're gonna put him in the movies?

As the Daily Nod went to press there were frenzied rumours that Otis Vaters of the Dog’s Bollox had been approached by Chubby Cauliflower no less, and offered the lead role in his latest movie. Although not substantiated, we have managed to procure a pre-production movie flyer which would seem to add some weight to the idea:

Doctor Nod starring Otis Vaters!
