Congratulations to Casey Steamer and Mamma B on the arrival of their new baby son Axel!

"Ostentatious Moi?" asks Bad Boy Keefy...

Readers may remember that Bad Boy Keefy has abandoned his world famous 'ickle' drum kit and purchased a new massiff kit. It seems that BBK will not be content until the kit occupies a small amphitheatre, and is buying
additional drums and cymbals faster than a woman in a shoeshop.

Artists impression of how Bad Boy Keefy's collossal kit may look from above

A bonus of this extraordinary kit is the creation of new jobs at Cammell Laird's shipyard, which has been contracted to assemble an enormous drum riser. The riser is expected to rival most North Sea oilrigs in both size and spectacle, and will be fitted with the usual stage lighting and glittery paraphernalia. There will also be a huge winch system for raising the audacious percussionist above the kit and lowering him onto his custom drum stool.

It was suggested that Bad Boy Keefy's arms may not be long enough to reach
the extremities of the kit, and that perhaps some of the more esoteric
'bells and whistles' might be surplus to requirements. But BBK countered
with his unique patented SuperLongŠ drum sticks, adding that the sonic
spectrum of his unique kit would allow even whales and bats in the area to
enjoy the performance.

There is however one flaw with BBK's plans, that is finding a venue large enough to stage the massif drum kit. Readers will be aware that The Greasby
Antitheatre has always been a favourite with The Dog's Bollox - however, now it seems that even the Barnston Bowl will not be large enough. Watch this space for developments....

Old Man Williams turns up again!

Previously unseen photograph of Old Man Williams

Ted Scoggins from Hartlepool, England, had a pleasant surprise when he volunteered to help clear the loft space of a recently departed relative.
Imagine his surprise and delight when amongst an ancient collection of 78rpm vinyl recordings, he came across an Old Man Williams disc thought to have been lost forever! The record sleeve features a previously unseen photo of Old Man, and songs include the classic "Too Shy" - considered by aficionados as one of the definitive songs from the Old Man Williams repertoire - and on the 'b' side the wonderful "Whole Lotta Rosie" in it's original format.

Here at Nod The Dog Productions we are delighted to report that we have
successfully negotiated for the rights to feature MP3 versions of the songs
on our Old Man Williams featured artiste page. Download the tracks now and enjoy a piece of history that everybody thought would never be heard again!

"It's A Forgery!" cries Otis Vaters....

In our January issue we featured a story claiming that Chubby Cauliflower had contacted Otis Vaters, of The Dog's Bollox, regarding a role in his latest movie. We even published what was believed to be a pre-production movie flyer apparently showing Otis in the lead role.

Since releasing the story we have received denials and strong protestations from both Otis Vaters and Chubby Cauliflower. It is now the duty of The Daily Nod to put the record straight.

We would like to point out that The Daily Nod, and indeed Nod The Dog Productions played no part in the fabrication of this myth. It appears that we were duped by an unscrupulous hack and should never have published the story in the first place. Apologies go to Otis Vaters, Chubby Cauliflower, and all who were misled by the story.
