Friday the 6th of September 2002 saw an event that will surely go down in history as one of the most exciting musical performances of the millennium. The “de LeZ Fan Club” featuring Otis Vaters on guitar, Tarquin on Bass, and Bad Boy Keefy on drums were joined on stage by none other than de LeZ himself! As ever, NOD THE DOG PRODUCTIONS are proud to be able to offer this unique record of the event.
The band performed to a packed house many songs from the de LeZ repertoire, including favourites “The Thrill Has Gone” and “Seaside Rock”. The finale featured another de LeZ original called; “Dance With Me” which brought the audience to fever pitch and had some of the female fans bringing memories of the Tom Jones heyday by throwing their underwear on stage at de LeZ. Unfazed by the adulation, de LeZ went on to perform some improvisational blues and proved his mastery of the Fender Stratocaster guitar. All of the band agreed that de LeZ was a tough taskmaster, but it was worth all of the hard work. Bad Boy Keefy said it was one of the most punishing gigs of his career, and commented that his world famous 'ickle' drum kit had been pushed almost to breaking point.
To hear for yourself just what an amazingly original and innovative guitarist de LeZ is, just download this sample mp3 track of "The Cat Crept In" in which de LeZ pulls out all of the stops with his uncompromising lead guitar style.
