Tony Williams

After the split of Indiskyz, I set to work learning about digital recording techniques on a home pc, while at the same time writing and recording original material. I always wanted my music to sound humorous and at times surprising; the beauty of digital recording on a PC is that you can very easily drop samples and sound effects into the mix and alter the mood of the piece quite dramatically.
“You’ve been expecting me” was intended to be a very tongue in cheek debut album as a solo recording artist. Although not always reflected in the music, which at times comes across as a full blown band, the concept behind it was very much inspired by the “gorillaz” album of 2001.
I’m using a Korg i40m for the vast majority of my keyboard sounds (including drums programmed in midi) with an Evolution midi controller keyboard. My guitars are a Fender Standard Stratocaster, and a Yamaha apx7 electro acoustic. I try to keep the recorded signal as dry as possible and then utilise plug in effects on the pc. However, I have a Zoom GFX8 which I use for electric guitar effects and amp simulation.
MP3's
INJUNZ – Labelled a ‘stop-gap single’; an instrumental number hastily thrown together in response to criticism from “de LeZ” about the new cd being slow off the mark.
YOU'VE BEEN EXPECTING ME - The title track of the album. To me, it represents shaking off the shackles of old things and starting afresh.
TURN LEFT AT PLANET FIVE - Not much to say about this one except that it's very catchy, so download it at your peril!
BARON ST JEAN - 3 chord blues with a difference. Drink a bottle of cheap red wine before listening to it and it all starts making sense!
(Tony is actually the great great great nephew of "Old Man Williams" – if you look closely at the photos on this site you may be able to spot the resemblance!)
